PARK + WALK + TREAT
Halloween in Historic South Gainesville

A Tradition Worth Protecting
There is something special about Halloween in Historic South Gainesville. Our streets come alive on Halloween night with children in costumes, parents walking alongside them, neighbors sitting on porches, and homes welcoming trick-or-treaters with candy and smiles.
We love that tradition!
Our Park +Walk Plan
In 2025, the Historic South Gainesville Neighborhood Association launched this initiative to help promote safety in our neighborhood during trick-or-treating. This effort encourages families to park in participating businesses' parking lots north and south of the neighborhood and walk to the streets where they want to trick-or-treat.
The idea is simple - less driving and fewer cars within the neighborhood help provide a safer environment.
Last year's experience showed us that families will use designated parking areas when they know where to go. This year, we're building on that experience with an enhanced parking and walking map to make those choices easier.
Our goal isn't to change what makes Halloween special. It's to make it easier and safer for all South Gainesville residents, neighbors, and visitors.
Let's keep the magic of Halloween!
Participating Businesses
We are grateful to the businesses that gave us permission to promote their locations for Halloween parking. Please check back as we finalize the details of this year's participating businesses. Parking and walking maps and other fun details coming soon!
Volunteers Needed!
We’re looking for volunteers to:
-
Pass out candy at designated parking areas
-
Welcome families as costumed parking lot greeters
-
Create and place signs directing visitors to parking
Have a special talent, idea, or just a little time to give? We’d love to have you be part of it!
